I built this writing box as a gift, designed to hold pens and cards. The main wood is western yew, and banded by a limited edition banding. The pen tray is flocked in bright green.
I am turning these pens from various hardwoods. When I find a piece of wood with good figure or lustre I put it aside and use it for these pens. The hardware is from Lee Valley Tools, and of good quality. This particular fountain pen uses standard cartridges but also has a converter to use liquid ink. The nib is iridium and made in Germany. It writes very well, a medium size so it gives a nice bold line. I am selling these pens now on Etsy, each one is unique.
These candle sticks are created from birch boughs, seasoned and drilled to accept tea light candles. I have sold a few at Christmas fairs and by word or mouth. They make a nice center piece for Thanksgiving or Easter when you are celebrating the season and want to bring a little outside in.
