Beer Tote – $50

BeerToteThis beer tote was my take on that problem, not enough hands to carry your beer, wine and food to the neighbors for a potluck.  This one is made from eastern maple, and holds four standard wine bottles or 650 ml beer bottles.  I use General Finishes water based finished which is a tough UV stabilized clear top coat.  This is available in a Eastern Maple, African Mahogany and Red Oak.   I am planning some special editions using reclaimed and reused wood which will show up here and on my facebook page.

Fountain Pen – $55

PlumFountainPen I love fountain pens and have made several of these for my own use.  The mechanisms are sold through Lee Valley Tools and I find them to be of good quality and durable.  This one has a gold plated nib and sterling silver accents.  The wood is plum salvaged from a wind thrown tree that a tree service was cleaning up.  I have a variety of pens of different woods and styles and am constantly making more.  You can see several in my portfolio page and on facebook.

Shaker Clock – $200

FirClock2I designed this clock body with the shaker aesthetic in mind.  It has some storage space in the body for small handy things.  We have ours over the fireplace so it has candles and matches in it.  This one is made from a fir beam removed from my fathers house during a renovation.  Its not number one vertical grain Douglas Fir, but it has a lot of quirks that I love, like pin knots, pitch pockets, and grain variations.  I finished it with linseed oil and wax.  It will slowly take on an antique hand rubbed patina as the wood darkens and mellows.  I also make these in cherry and western maple with various stains.
